ALUCOBOND®, A Sensible Solution Provider

Doug Aitken, a modern artist, set up Mirage-Gstaad, a mirror-surfaced house installation utilizing ALUCOBOND®naturAL on the 1,200-meter snow peak in Gstaad, Switzerland in 2019.

Merging with snow-capped mountains in winter and reflecting azure sky and green land in summer, it was beamed across social media and soon became a hotspot on various Apps. While it is regretted that the exhibition of ethereal Mirage-Gstaad could only last till next year, It is however gratifying that the Casa Invisible of ALUCOBOND®naturAL, another house standing in the wilderness and blending into the surrounding landscape in Slovenia, will work as a permanent house instead.

As early as the end of 2017, this portable structural house, designed by DMAA, using prefabricated wood structures, has realized easy assembly and disassembly at any place. Casa Invisible, completed in 2013 and with a perfect infusion of exterior and interior wall, has already revealed the advantages of prefabrication.

Transcending the intensive cost and conventional structure of orthodox architecture, ALUCOBOND® provides a breakthrough alternative solution: one-stop customer-tailored service, free selection from exterior to interior and even location.

Create a kaleidoscope of architecture

The architects at Elenberg Fraser describe their design as

“…a twisting helix that seems to defy the laws of physics.

Appearing to turn on its trajectory,

the building has no corners.”

The architects further describe,

“This three-dimensional kaleidoscope not only twists and undulates on its axis

but its façade is a moving object.

The effect of constant motion

is amplified by the iridescent contrasts of the goniochromism panels

(which change color depending on your perspective)…”
